Campus Golf!

This coming weekend my sorority is hosting the second annual Campus Golf.  It is really exciting because we set up a golf course in the quad and all the money that we earn goes toward the Boys and Girls Club of Manhattan and Campfire USA.  You all may be asking "Why would they give money to camping?"  I was thinking the same thing.  Actually I am very proud to say that the money we raise creates camping scholarships for underprivileged girls.  The idea is to help build resiliency in girls who may not have the opportunity to be independent and have fun every once in awhile.  If anyone is in town and wants to participate it is from 10 am-4 pm this Saturday.  It is $12.00 per individual or $40.00 for a team of four.  You can bring your own putters or they will be provided for you.  There is no pressure to be good at golf, this is more of a mini golf tournament than anything, we play with tennis balls and it is a lot of fun!  Even if you don't want to play, take a walk through the quad and watch, it is really funny!

no break allowed

Why is it I can't really get a break!

While all my friends plan on having a wonderful "Fall Break"  and headed home to be with family, I was unable to do so.  I had a meeting on Saturday morning and I have to be at Lee Elementary on Monday.  That doesn't leave much room for a break.

Even though I do not get a break, I am excited to go to Lee tomorrow. I am doing my ESL practicum there and I love it.  It is my last class in the ESL endorsement plan and it is the best.  I actually get to see methods practiced I have learned about the past two years.  So if you have the day off tomorrow enjoy it!  I will be hanging out at Lee elementary with the kiddos!

Jumping right in...

I am new to the blogging thing, so I am going to jump right in. . .

Is anyone familiar with the Austin, Texas area?  My fiance is looking at jobs in the area and I am clueless of the schools, area, lifestyle, basically everything!  If you know anything about the area or school district please let me know!

Thanks and happy Blogging!
